Help! Help! They're at it again!

There is a dedicated effort toward government control of population in Calaveras county. This has been reported as part of the proposed Copperopolis Community Plan and in the recently reported proposed down zoning in the West Point area.

The question seems to be: Is this good public planning policy or an attack on our liberty and property rights?

We seem to be blessed, in America, with a philosophy and form of government that respects the individual rights to life, liberty and property. So, in my opinion, it is proper for government to protect our above rights, but wrong to oppress them. Populations should decline or increase as part of the free market and not by government mandate.

Free people tend to create abundance and prosperity. That is why we have growth in the vacation and retirement areas. This is a blessing and certainly nothing to fear.

Fear of new people can be hurtful - especially when this fear is exploited by the media and the politicians.

Now is the time to stand up for our liberty and property rights before it is too late.
